Akagera National Park is a great ecosystem it boasts a Biodiverse environment unique to the protected national conservation areas of Rwanda. It is the country’s only savannah national park and also stands as the country’s largest protected wetland area established in 1934 and is home to several wildlife species. In the past years the park used to larger than it is in the present day. The effects of the war during the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda greatly affected it as many people encroached on the land as a hiding spot.
