Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Fruits of Hope Adventure Tours representative and assisted with a domestic flight to either Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip, depending on the sector of Bwindi you will be visiting. The scenic flight offers aerial views of Lake Victoria, lush tea plantations and the rolling highlands of southwestern Uganda. Upon landing, a luxury 4×4 vehicle will transfer you to your lodge nestled on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Take the rest of the day to unwind, soak in the atmosphere and prepare for the next day’s once-in-a-lifetime experience. You may enjoy a nature walk around the lodge, a massage or a private sundowner with views of the forest canopy.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi

After a hearty breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The trek may last from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you are assigned to. Once you locate them, you will spend one magical hour in their presence, observing their social interactions and taking in the quiet majesty of these gentle giants.

Return to the lodge for a late lunch, followed by a relaxing afternoon. For guests interested in cultural experiences, a visit to a local Batwa community can be arranged, offering insights into their traditional forest lifestyle.

Day 3: Scenic Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

Along the way, you may also encounter red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, and a wide variety of bird species. Once you find the chimps, enjoy a close encounter as they swing through the trees, forage or rest on the forest floor.

After lunch, visit the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed reserve that is home to over 200 bird species and several primates. It’s a great opportunity for birdwatching and interacting with the local community guides who share knowledge about conservation and culture.

Return to your lodge for your final evening in the Ugandan wilderness.

Day 5: Return to Entebbe – Departure

Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to the airport or your hotel if you have an overnight stay.

If time allows, optional activities in Entebbe can be arranged, such as a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre or a lakeside lunch by Lake Victoria.
